Our first Student of the Month Awards Assembly will be held on October 6th at 8:45 in our cafeteria. We will be celebrating those students that were chosen that best exemplified the values of the month for August and September. Teachers will send home invitations to the awards assembly about a week prior to the event.

It has been such a fast and amazing few weeks of school already! Our students are hard at work. Our art and music teachers have begun instruction. Students have begun working in our new online reading and math learning program, Dreambox, in most of our classes. We have already scheduled multiple educational field trips and activities that will happen throughout the school year. A few field trips are happening in the month of September. A huge shoutout to all of the Castle Rock Staff for a great start to the school year!

Back to School Night is on Tuesday, Sept. 12th at 6:30 AM. We will start with a whole school informational meeting in the cafeteria. This will be followed by a dessert bar provided by the Lakehead Lions Club and then classroom visits. During the classroom visits parents and students will hear about class expectations for the year, as well as how as a parent you can help your student be successful.

I will be sending out information for our School Site Council/District Advisory Council/LCAP Committee soon. These meetings are a great way to become more involved in the school and to help determine the programs available for our students.
