Principal's Post

Burk Families,

Welcome back from Fall Break! I hope everyone had an enjoyable and restful break. We accomplished a great deal during the first quarter of school and we look forward to the work we'll do during quarter two.

Below is information about our upcoming Step It Up Fundraiser and a reminder of PTSO Events in October and November. We have much to look forward to over these next weeks. These are great opportunities to be involved with our School Community!

PTSO Fundraiser - Step It Up!

We are so excited to be working with Step It Up for our biggest fundraiser of the year! This program will bring the necessary FUN & FUNDS to our school! We are excited to celebrate our students, school, and community.

This program is very EASY and I would appreciate your support and enthusiasm to make this a huge success. Below are a few important notes, so please read carefully:

Our Step It Up! fundraiser in-person Kick-Off is on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.

  1. ALL students will go home with an informational packet called the “GOLDEN TICKET PACKET”. It will be explained in the kick-off.

  2. Students will return their completed Golden Tickets the day after our kick-off to earn prizes just for participating, no money required! Our goal is 100% student participation!

  3. To celebrate our fundraising efforts, Step It Up will come back to our campus on November 9th for our Day of Awesomeness event celebration! We will need Volunteers to assist with this event!

Our school has always relied on this Step it Up fundraiser to provide an excellent educational experience for all students, and we are looking forward to a successful Step It Up Fundraiser! If you have any questions please ask!

Health and Safety Update

The Health and Safety of our students is a top priority. With that in mind here are some reminders.

1. Students are not permitted to be on campus until 7:40AM. There are no crossing guards or supervision on campus until that time.

2. Parents, if you will be staying with your child on the playground or cafeteria we ask that you sign in at the office and get a Visitor's Sticker.

3. Arrival/Dismissal Locations. Hopefully you are aware of the K/1, 2/3 and 4-6 Grade Arrival and Dismissal Locations. If we adhere to these locations the flow of traffic runs smoothly.

4. Dismissal. We ask that you stay off campus at Dismissal time and pick up your child at their Grade Level gate.

5. Dogs and animals are not permitted on campus. many of our students have pet allergies, are not comfortable with animals and at times animals get scared with the large number of us on campus. Service animals are an exception.
