Greetings from LVE'S New Assistant Principal, Mrs. Lauren Keebey!
On Thursday, March 30, the WSD Board of Education approved the hiring of Lakeview's next Assistant Principal, Mrs. Lauren Keebey. Mrs. Keebey will begin her position here at Lakeview beginning on July 1, 2023. We look forward to welcoming Mrs. Keebey to our school community. Mrs. Keebey has taken the time to write to our school community to introduce herself.
From Mrs. Keebey:
I am very excited to join the LVE Family! I can’t wait to meet each one of you and our students as we embark on a new journey together.
I attended the University of Missouri, Columbia for my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I later attended Missouri Baptist University for my Master’s Degree in Elementary Administration. I am entering my 14th year in education. I taught in the City of St. Charles School District for my first 10 years and then came to Heritage Primary here in Wentzville for the past 3 years. During those years I taught both 2nd grade and Kindergarten.
I wholeheartedly believe that ALL students can learn at high levels! As the assistant principal, I will work to support our students academically, socially, and emotionally. It is my goal to ensure that our children continue to receive a quality education in an environment that is safe and nurturing every day. I am committed to working in partnership with families, staff, and the community to support our children in reaching their maximum potential. My door will always be open so please never hesitate to come to me with questions, concerns, or new ideas for our school. I am here to make sure each and every person in our LVE family is supported and happy!
Here’s a little bit more about me! I grew up in St. Charles and currently live in O’fallon. My husband, Ryan, and I have 2 children; Cooper is 6 and Kinley is 1. We also have one dog, Minnie. I love reading, watching the Blues and the Cardinals, going to the lake, and spending time with friends and family.
In closing, I look forward to our first school year full of learning and growing together! I can’t wait to get started!
Sincerely,
Lauren Keebey
Missouri Assessment Program (MAP Testing)
Missouri Assessment Program (MAP Testing)
The fourth quarter has arrived and the students and staff at Lakeview have hit the ground running after returning from a relaxing and restful Spring Break! We hope that you found an opportunity to spend time with family and friends.
It’s hard to believe, but the end of the 2022-2023 school year is just around the corner. It is important to maintain our momentum and focus throughout this final home stretch. Our teachers and students are diligently focusing on curriculum and grade-level expectations to ensure that we finish the year strong. We appreciate all of your efforts in supporting this journey to excellence!
Beginning next week, Lakeview students in grades 3-6 will participate in the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP). MAP is one way we measure student achievement as well our progress with curricular and state goals and standards. The MAP Grade-Level Assessment will be administered online. Our MAP schedule/window will occur during the first two weeks of May. Please refer to your child's classroom newsletter for information about your child's testing schedule.
Please help our students shine by making sure they get plenty of rest each night and have a healthy breakfast each day. We also ask that you ensure that your child arrives at school each day on time and you avoid scheduling appointments during testing hours. Finally, we ask that you talk to your child about doing his or her best on the test, but not to the extent that he or she is worried or stressed. This is not a test for which students study; it is a chance for them to show what they know!

In the coming weeks we will begin our class placement process for the 2023-2024 school year. We know many families like to provide preferrred characteristics for their child's teacher placement. We would love to gather this input. However, please be advised that, as in years past, we cannot accept specific requests for specific teacher placements.
If you would like to provide input and feedback in your child(ren)'s placement for next year, please send an email to Mr. Holler and/or Mr. Johnson explaining what characteristics you feel would be beneficial for your child. We will take this into account to the greatest possible extent. Please do not include a specific teacher's name. We look at a wide range of factors in placing students, and cannot always guarantee a specific placement with a specific teacher.
