MASC/MAHS State Leadership Conference
Nine Leadership students traveled to Grand Rapids Feb 25-27 for the MASC/MAHS State Leadership Conference at the Amway Grand. The conference offered students the chance to share ideas about events and happenings in high schools all over the state of Michigan. Students heard presentations from students in other districts, interacted with them via games and activities. Students enjoyed the opportunities to grow as leaders and help them to realize all they are capable of!
Gabrielle Sornson was recognized as Holly High School's Unsung Hero. This award goes to a student who is crucial to the Leadership program while also staying out of the spotlight. She works tirelessly for the organization and expects little recognition for her efforts. She was recognized at the conference alongside 30 other students from around the state. Great job, Gabby!

District 4 Choir Festival Results
Recently, Holly High School Concert and Show Choirs attended the District 4 Choir Festival. Both choirs performed well, earning a "II - Good" for overall performance. The Concert Choir was 1 point away from a perfect score in sight reading! This year we are participating in a much larger district than in previous years with many larger programs from the NW Detroit area and we are very proud of these students! Congratulations on a job well done!

Holly FCCLA Socks for Change!
https://www.youtube.com/embed/BCHhwxvQqxg
Consider these facts:
- Every 20 seconds a child dies from lack of access to clean water.
- Women and children in many communities spend up to 60 percent of each day walking to collect water.
- 4,500 children die each day due to unsafe water and a lack of basic sanitation.
- Most of us don’t even think about it. We use 80 – 100 gallons of water every day. It’s just a part of life.
- But for millions of children throughout the developing world, the possibility of drinking clean water is just a dream.
We started the sock campaign to provide clean drinking water for communities in Rwanda so children and their families can get the clean water they need to live healthy lives. Please buy a pack or two — even one pack of socks will be a huge help. Together we can greatly improve their lives… one step at a time. For every pack sold, we will receive a pair of socks to donate to people in need within our community! Thank you!
*Socks can be purchased in Mrs. Barth’s Classroom- A201 or go to the website below. https://go.wehelptwo.com/campaign/?campaignid=18046
