Teach your Staff How to Resolve Conflicts!

It may not always be their fault, but it becomes their problem (or yours). As conferences approach, these 4 steps are good reminders for staff when resolving conflicts and moving toward solving problems.

1. Let the person vent. Listen. Make eye contact. Listen.

2. Apologize, Apologize, Apologize. Apologize for what happened, how it made them feel, etc..

3. Don't blame others or blame others.

4. Work to resolve the conflict or problem.

Do Your Teachers Believe?

A first-grade student and his mother walked into the classroom to give his teacher a gift-it was a word-art sign that simply said, "Believe."

"The story behind the gift is even better," the mother shared. "As we were shopping, my son saw the sign and said, 'Mrs. K would really like that.' I asked him, 'why do you think so?'

He replied, 'Because she believes I can do something before I know that I can.'"

What a powerful reminder of the impact a teacher can have on the growth mindset of our students. Do your teachers believe? Do you believe?
