    Warwick Elementary School

    Holiday Giving Project 2022

Helen Keller once said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” Let us offer our children a chance to experience this valuable lesson this season.

The staff and students at Warwick Elementary School, along with the local community, will be working together to collect donations for our Warwick families.

    Holiday Food Pantry

The Holiday Food Pantry allows families to receive needed food items. Homerooms help by collecting a food item that will be added to a group of groceries to stock a pantry. Food items will be collected from December 1st- December 14th.

    Turkey Toss

Our PE teachers will facilitate our annual Turkey Toss during the week of December 5th. The “toss” is our primary funding source for the Holiday Giving Project. Each student is asked to consider donating $2.00 which will go towards the purchase of turkeys and gift certificates to local supermarkets. Please consider sending in a donation in a sealed, labeled envelope with Teacher Name & Turkey Toss written on the outside.

    Holiday Giving Tree

Warwick families will once again have an opportunity to participate in our Giving Tree.

Parents may choose a snowflake from on artificial tree in the atrium. Listed on a snowflake will be generic gift suggestion (also listed below for any families that are not able to pick a snowflake). Families can then go out and purchase the gift item and place in gift donation boxes in the main atrium. Gifts do not need to be wrapped. Gifts should be turned in no later than Wednesday, December 14th. The gifts will be shared with families to bring some joy this holiday season.

    Warwick’s Annual Turkey Toss

The week of December 5th during Physical Education class, all students will take part in shooting basketballs and “tossing turkeys” in a friendly competition to see which class can score the most points. The important part of this fun day is to donate $2.00, or what you can, at the start of the class. These donations will be collected at the beginning of your child’s Physical Education class and all money collected will be distributed to needy families in the area. At the end of the week, the class with the highest point total from the “turkey toss,” will be awarded the “Turkey Trophy” to be displayed in the classroom for the rest of this school year. What a wonderful way to help others and have fun too!

We are looking forward to welcoming parents to Warwick for conferences in the coming days.
