Early Intervention Services
What is Early Intervention?
Early Intervention is a service that can be provided to promote a child's growth and development in the early years of their lives, while also providing a support system to the family. Early Intervention services are for children from birth to age six. The Individuals with Disabilities Act Part C mandates that all states provide Early Intervention to children who are experiencing developmental delays, physical or mental conditions. In our community we have several organizations who can provide Early Intervention services to children. I have listed a few for your convenience.
"With over 60 years of experience, Beginnings, Inc. is Cambria County’s leading provider of early intervention and early literacy programs in the area. Beginnings, Inc.’s program has been used as a model across the State of Pennsylvania for early intervention services." Services that are provided can be physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutritional support, and so much more. Early Intervention services are free to all children who qualify and is funded by Cambria County through the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.

Professional Family Care Services
"Our mission is to provide caring and effective child welfare services. We strive to promote and preserve healthy family relationships." This program strongly believes that the sooner early intervention services begin, the better the outcome will be for the child. Early Intervention services are provided in home, in daycare, or even in Head Start locations. The child will be evaluated so that an Individual Education Plan can be made to meet their needs and identify their areas of strength and weakness. Services are free regardless of family income.
