Change to Dismissal Process
*Starting After Spring Break*
Right now, the security of our dismissal process is very dependent on our staff knowing parents and vehicles by sight. This works when key staff are present, but our goal is that our dismissal process run safely and smoothly even when subs or new staff are filling in.
Starting Monday, April 3rd, all families picking up students will be required to show a school provided "dismissal card" with their student's name on it, as "proof" that they are on the approved pick-up list. Families that have multiple children will show a card for each student.
This week every family will receive 2 cards per student, (more available upon request). The cards will be laminated and sized to fit in a car visor or glove box, so we suggest keeping them in your car.
When a parent calls with a change of plan, the office will still send a note out with students as proof that parents have approved the change.

We've had a blast passing out hugger prizes and seeing big smiles on little faces ❤
Thanks to the generosity of you and your friends/family, our school earned over $4000 in one weekend!
It's not too late to turn in your child's envelope for a hugger prize, we will be accepting envelopes through the end of the year. The office will be open during conferences (and has extra envelopes on hand) for any families that want to get their prize during that time.
Only the hugger prizes are in stock at Salem Heights. Additional prizes will be sent to the school about once a month, starting at the end of April.
No purchase necessary to get a Hugger:
1. Simply visit Schoolstore.net and sign up using our school ID: 185201
2. Send the provided form email to family, friends, and co-workers, inviting them to support your student.
- Only 6 emails are required for the hugger prize. You will then be given the option to include 3 more emails, send texts, and/or post to Facebook to pursue more prizes, but these are not required. If you would prefer to pass, just click "No Thanks" or "Continue to Get Your Prize Code" until your participation code is displayed.
3. Write prize code on student envelope and return it to school ASAP for your child to get their Mystery Safari Hugger (these prizes are already in stock at our school)!
Once you are signed up, you can choose to participate by donating gift cards and/or doing your normal shopping through "Family Book Store" or through over 400 major merchants like Walmart, Kohl's, Best Buy, and more! We earn a percentage from each purchase, and your child earns points toward their next prize!

Please take time to stop by and check our lost and found this week as we will be donating all remaining items during Spring Break.
We always check for student names written inside before donating, so you can prevent the loss of your child's items by labeling them.
SPRING BREAK MEALS AVAILABLE AT 9 SCHOOLS
MARCH 22, 27 & 29
Breakfast and lunches will be offered at nine schools during Spring break 2023. Meals will be packed in grocery bags and available via curbside pickup. Each person may receive up to five meal packs during pickup.
