School Announcements & Updates
PLCs
Each PLC should work together to select 1 time per cycle to designate as PLC time. This is different than common planning time. PLC time is dedicated time to review goals, update data, and drive instruction. Each time your PLC meets, documentation of the meeting and progress towards the goal should be reflected in the appropriate document. We will be reviewing all documents during our Data Days as a foundation for our conversation and work moving forward. Please make sure to not only update the smart goal documents but that they become a part of the routine when meeting and discussing progress.
SLOs
Please ensure all SLO documents and tracking forms are uploaded to schoology in the final documentation assignment. All SLOs will be printed and put in your mailbox for signatures. Please return signed SLOs to Ms. Gartman/Ms. Perez no later than Friday, November 4th.
Bulletin Boards
As we prepare for many visitors at Wickersham, please take a moment to reflect...Does the work outside of your classroom reflect the current and hard work that is happening inside the room?
In order to demonstrate current happenings in each classroom, bulletin boards should be updated monthly at minimum. This is a positive way for all stakeholders including students to celebrate the hard work that is happening in the classrooms.
Parent Teacher Conferences Spreadsheet/Schedule
Please regularly update the PT Conference Schedule. The office will use this document to answer questions from families in regards to the time of their conference.
Mentor Program: Hopefully everyone participating in the mentor program took a few minutes last week to introduce themselves to their mentee and explain how your mentorship is going to work this year. Also, hopefully you emailed or discussed in person, with your mentee's homeroom teacher, to learn a little about their background and how they are doing at school. If you weren't able to do those 2 things last week, please do them by the end of this week. I will send monthly reminders on Monday memo about touching base with your mentee. Thank you again for participating in the program. Ryan Wertman
Schoology Update-
November Faculty Council Minutes
Holiday/Christmas gifts: Mr. Wertman is collecting names to give to St. Leo's church of families in need of holiday help this December. I am able to get 100 sets of presents for children. Please email Mr. Wertman ASAP with the name/gender/age of any child that would benefit. If you know siblings names/gender/age that helps out a lot. I need the information by 11/1/17. Thank you
Chili Cook-off
On November's early release day, we will be having our first (hopefully annual) Staff Chili Cook-off. We are looking for as many people as possible to enter their best chili recipe in the competition. The staff will vote on their favorites and the winner will receive an award. If your not a chili maker, you can contribute by bringing some bread or a frozen/cold treat.
Please sign up for chili, bread, or treats at https://goo.gl/Vca4Gi
