Welcome Tolson parents!
We look forward to meeting the new students and families and reconnecting with our returning families. Teachers and Staff are extremely excited to welcome all our Tolson Students.
Our first school event is Meet Your Teacher, August 2nd, 8:00 am-11:00 am and 12:00 pm-3:00 pm. This is not a formal open house. This is simply a time to drop in, say hello, pick up a supply list, and find your student’s classroom.
Class rosters will be posted in our entryway starting Wednesday. Please remember that rosters are final and there will be no changes to class lists.
Parents: Please be prepared to exit the building in a timely manner after the initial drop-off. We’ve all been there... especially our kindergarten families. Please trust the system. There will be adults on campus and in classrooms to comfort and keep your children inside and safe. The faster the independency routines begin, the better. Parents are not allowed to wait outside classrooms at dismissal.
Please make sure you are connected with your child’s teacher through the Class Dojo app.
Please use the parent pick-up lane or wait outside in our parent pick-up area.
NO parking in front of the building. This is for drop-off and drive-away only. If you plan on entering the building, you need to find a parking spot.
Tolson will welcome volunteers after classroom routines have been established. Please ask your child’s teacher if you are interested. All parent volunteers must apply online at TUSD1.org. Please call or visit the office for assistance. All visitors must visit the office and wear a visitor sticker while on campus.
Supervision begins at 7:30 a.m.
Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m.
First bell at 8:25 a.m.
Dismissal at 2:40 p.m. Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri (Wed at 1:40 p.m.)

General Safety Reminders: Please help us keep your children safe by following all traffic rules during the early morning drop-off time and dismissal times
- Students are not allowed to enter the building before 7:30 a.m. There is no supervision until that time.
- Do not park and abandon your vehicle in the designated drop-off/pick-up lane or in the bus bays. This causes major problems during drop off and dismissal. Please use either parking lots when visiting.
- Follow speed limits in the “School Zones”.
- Ask your child to walk home in pairs or with groups of other students. There is safety in numbers!
- Encourage your child to report all injuries or unsafe conditions to any adult on campus. If we do not know about circumstances when students are unsafe, we can’t intervene to help.
- Always walk your child into the office when they are tardy. This is a District policy that is in place to keep your child safe. Never have your children walk to school alone when they are going to be significantly tardy.
- Parent pick-up students must be picked up in designated area in front of school. You are welcome to sign students out before dismissal when appropriate. Please keep in mind instructional time runs up to 2:40.
- Parents/Guardians MUST call the office when making a change in dismissal procedure. Thank you for helping us keep your child safe!
