All the Feelings
Dear families,
Although it did not come as a surprise, based on our current circumstances, I just watched the State Superintendent of Schools, Jennifer McCormick, announce that all Indiana schools would complete this school year, remotely, meaning we will not be returning to the classroom. I have so many thoughts and feelings, stirring within me right now, and disappointment and sorrow are strong at the moment. Cognitively, I understand the need for this, as we try to combat this health crisis and attempt to protect our friends, families, and community. Selfishly, however, my heart is struggling with not being with your children everyday and not being able to bring closure to our school year. I think about your children and you, everyday, wondering how you are doing physically, mentally, emotionally. I think about how this new normal is affecting your family and how the dynamics of your home, family, and work are being affected. Please, know that you are in my thoughts, daily.
Everyone's health and well-being are the top priority, right now. My hope is that you are all healthy and taking care of yourselves. We are resilient and will get through this together. Please, please, please, feel free to reach out at any time, if you need anything. In the meantime, I have included a few self-care resources for you.
