Parent-Teacher Conferences
Sign up for conferences beginning Tuesday, October 29th through the PowerSchool Parent Portal using the PowerPTC directions. The conference scheduler will stay open until the day before each conference date.
Report Cards
Parents should have received both a PDF attachment and a link through to the Parent Portal, where they can log in to view the information. If you did not receive your child's report card, please contact the school office.

Holiday Meal Assistance
It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving and the winter holidays are just weeks away. We would like to share some community resources for those families that may make the holiday a little easier.
Winter Coats, Hats, and Gloves
Laura Mell, one of Gemini's Social Workers, can assist families in need of winter coats, hats, and gloves. Contact Laura at lmell@emsd63.org or call (847) 493-8677.
Backpack Food Program
Niles is teaming up with Gemini Middle School to offer nutritious meals and snacks for children over weekends and breaks, free of charge through their free Backpack Food Program. Contact Laura Mell at lmell@emsd63.org or Emily Alexander at ealexander@emsd63.org to sign up or for more information.
Student Breakfast
Lockers and Locks
All students are required to lock their locker with a school issued lock in order to secure their belongings. If your child has lost their lock, they may purchase another for $5 in the Student Services Office.
After School Sporting Events
Student Drop Off and Pick Up
Students should be dropped off no later than 7:25 AM to ensure they have enough time to go to their lockers and be in class when school begins at 7:30 AM.
Outdoor supervision begins at 7:00 AM. On days with inclement weather, please give yourselves extra time so that students are on-time to school. After 7:28 AM, all students will need to enter through Door 1. Students arriving after 7:30 AM will be marked tardy to school.

If you enjoyed Battle of the Books, or just like to read, the Niles Maine District Library’s Reading Challenge may be for you. Gather a team of 2 to 6 players and practice Wednesdays during lunch/advisory. Stop by the library for more information.

ExL Basketball League and Winter Break Camps
- ExL Basketball League Tryouts will be on December 3 & 10 at Gemini Middle School during Open Gym Hours on those Tuesdays. Parents need to register their children in advance by going to www.tinyurl.com/exlbball to register.
- All information can be found on the ExL website by clicking on the tab “other,” then “Basketball League”
- Registration for Winter Break Camp Days is also open, this provides care for students from 7:30am - 6pm on December 26 & 27 and January 2 & 3.

Girls interested in playing basketball should check out the Maine East Girls Feeder Basketball program beginning November 12.
Interested in co-ed volleyball classes? The Golf Maine Park District has the class for you!
Check out the Niles Teen Center for after school activities, field trips, and special events all designed for 6th - 12th graders.
