Stafford Thompson, Jr., FSA, MAAA
As SVP of Life Product Management, Stafford will drive the continued expansion, diversification and enhancement of Lincoln’s industry-leading portfolio of Life Insurance products to meet the needs of new clients in Lincoln’s core and emerging markets, while also focusing on the long-lasting relationships with existing clients. His key responsibilities include product development, pricing and management for Lincoln’s individual Life Insurance and Executive Benefit products, as well as individual Life business development..
Before joining Lincoln in 2018, Stafford held the position of Vice President, Marketing Actuary at SCOR Global Life Americas where he managed client reinsurance request for proposals, and built and managed client relationships. Prior responsibilities at SCOR included product development, mass marketing and financial reinsurance in Latin America. Over the course of his career, Stafford has held executive and actuarial positions at Transamerica Reinsurance, North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company, and Cigna.
Stafford holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics with a concentration in actuarial science from Florida A&M University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is a Registered Representative of Lincoln Financial Distributors. He is a former Board member and President of the International Association of Black Actuaries (IABA). During his tenure as President of the IABA, he increased scholarships to future Black actuaries by 100 percent and connected the corporate and educational communities to increase professional awareness and support careers of Black actuaries.
Stafford is also a Board member of Grow Initiative of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.
