Safe in the Sun!

Here are some ways to protect you and your child from harmful UV sun rays when enjoying the outdoors this summer:

  • Stay in the shade whenever possible. Plan indoor activities during the mid-day hours when the UV rays are strongest and most dangerous.
  • If possible, wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants or skirts.
  • Wear a hat that shades the face, neck, ears and scalp.
  • Wear sunglasses to protect eyes from UV rays.
  • Use a sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15 every time your child goes outside. Don't forget to apply to ears, noses, lips, and tops of feet.

Happy Mother's Day!

Forest Lake Greenhouse graciously donated for our Mother's Day project! They supplied us with 200 plastic pots, 2 large bags of potting soil, 7 packets of seeds, and 12 trays to carry the pots; these items allowed each student to give their mom or "mom-figure" a pot with planted seeds. Thank you, Forest Lake Greenhouse! We know our students and moms will treasure them!

Staff at Woods Road hope all moms, aunts, grandmothers, and stand-in moms had a Happy Mother's Day!
Mrs. Crystal's class made sweet Mother's Day crafts!
Mrs. Huggins and Mrs. Richmond's class planted seeds!

3K Tea Party

Ms. Amy and Ms. Casey's 3K classes held a special Tea Party for their moms! The students sang songs and then enjoyed snacks with their moms and/or grandmas. How special!
