Act 2 Scene 1 Rumors
Mercutio and Romeo's friends exit the party. They are curious where Romeo ran off to. Mercutio assumes that Romeo is with Rosealine, unknowing that Romeo is now in love with Juliet. They all make indescent proposals about what Romeo is doing with her. Mercutio claims that blind love misses the mark.
Act 2 scene 2 A Private Discussion
Romeo sneaks off to see Juliet. Juliet walks over to her balcony and wishes that Romeo would give up his name. Juliet then admits that she loves Romeo. Romeo then reveals himself, and says that wings of love made him fly. Juliet becomes embarrassed because Romeo heard her say that she loved him. The two agree to meet each other the next day.
Act 2 Scene 3 A Basket Full of Herbs
Romeo goes to meet Friar Laurence in his herb garden. Friar Laurence assumes that Romeo had been with Rosealine. Romeo tells Friar Laurence that he doesn't love Rosealine anymore, and loves Juliet. Romeo asks if Friar Laurence will marry them. Friar Laurence at first decides not to marry them, because Romeo was crying over Rosealine yesterday. Friar Laurence then reconsiders assuming that if Romeo and Juliet get married it would end the feud between the two families.
Act 2 Scene 4 An Angry Nurse and Wedding Planning
Romeo is challenged to a duel by Tybalt for crashing the Capulet party. Mercutio warns that Typbalt is a very gifted fighter. Juliet's nurse walks in with a servant Peter. The nurse is quickly mocked by Mercutio and Romeo's friends. After Romeo's friends leave the nurse is upset with Peter for not defending her. The nurse and Romeo then begin to start discussing the plan for the wedding. Romeo says that the night of the wedding the nurse needs to put a rope ladder over the wall so that he can climb over and take advantage of his rights as a husband to Juliet.
Act 2 Scene 5 Impatience
Juliet is waiting for the nurse who is two and a half hours late. When the nurse arrives she complains about how tired she is. Juliet tries to get the information she needs from the nurse, but the nurse keeps distracting her. Juliet begins to scream for the nurse to give her the information that Romeo has given the nurse. The nurse then tells her to go to Friar Laurence's cell where she and Romeo will be married.
Act 2 Scene 6 The Wedding
Romeo and Friar Laurence are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Juliet. Friar Laurence begins to have second thoughts about the marriage. Romeo assures him that it is alright and that he must marry himself and Juliet. Juliet then enters Friar Laurence's cell. Friar Laurence then marries Romeo and Juliet.
