CCES Weekly Newsletter
For the week of: May 16th
We have a little over two weeks of school left this school year. I know I have said it before, but it really has flown by.
We continue our ABC Countdown this week with the letter 'O' - outside day. I hope the weather cooperates. We end the week with the letter 'S' - Sunglasses Day. I know everyone will be looking cool in their shades!!
All of our classes have been taking turns walking to the public library. They have a great summer reading program if you want to check it out.
It is almost time to register for next school year. The online registration for returning students begins on May 16th. If you are planning on attending Coal City schools next year, make sure to go to our district website and register your student(s) for next year:
https://www.coalcityschools.org/. It is best to use a computer as most tablets and cellphones do not support the online school form software. Fees need to be paid by September 1st and can be paid through EZSchool Pay.
Enjoy the weekend!

School Buses
- stay in seats
- no screaming
- hands and feet to self
- no eating or drinking
- wear a mask at all times
The bus drivers have a very important job of getting the students to and from school safely and distractions need to be kept to a minimum.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
DOORS OPEN AT 7:55
Drop-Off- Remember W. Second Street is a one way street going east.
Drop off and pickup will be on the south side of the building on W. Second Street. For the safety of all of the children that are being dropped off and picked up, please pull into the no parking zone (parallel to the road) and let your child exit the vehicle. We ask that you then exit the spot and pull forward onto the street again. Parents should not be exiting their vehicle this year, as it will be a continuous drop and go lane.
Pick-Up
- Pickup will also be along W. Second Street. It will be a pick up and go as well. There will be no parking, so the first several cars will be pulling into the no parking zone and waiting until dismissal. From there, cars will fill in as cars leave. Teachers will be out with their classrooms making sure that students are getting into their parents vehicle in a safe manner.
