St. Baldricks 2021
Anderson Community giving back to others!
An Anderson School Tradition: 8 Years and counting!
Yes, you read that correctly. If the Anderson Community raises over $2,000, Mr. Jarot will get on his coolest swim shorts, run and slide down a soapy slip-n-slide and land in a pool of green jello on Field Day!. Now that's worth seeing. Not to mention, the importance of helping others.
St. Charles Challenge
Dear Anderson Friends and Families,
Have you ever considered what it might take to help save someone’s life?
What if all it took was to shave your head?
Every year, thousands of brave men, women, and children have joined the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and shed their locks in support of childhood cancer research. I invite you to make a “bald” statement and join us on Saturday April 24th 2021 for virtual/hybrid head-shaving event! Support by shaving your head includes registering online, raising money, and showing up at the main event! Please support us in our pursuit to raise funds to help eradicate the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada.
This year, again we will be selling Green Hair extension. The green hair extension is another way to show support. The hair extensions are placed in by Beautiful You Salon. The cost is going to be $20 per extension.
We will be selling “Lucky Charms” which are going to be a dollar donation towards St. Baldrick’s. A “Lucky Charm” is where you can write your name on the charm and it will be posted as a supporter of St. Baldrick’s Foundation. These will be available in the classroom shortly.
If you are participating this year virtually please take pictures during and after the event.
Our goal is to raise $1,500 as a school. This will include hair extensions, donations raised on line from getting your head shaved, and even getting a “Lucky Charm”. As an event we would like to try and raise at least $5000 for the St. Baldricks Foundation that grants funds for childhood research.
Our goal this year is to have as many people and schools participate at the event! Last year Anderson Gives Back raised $6,100. This year we set our goal at $4,500. As a whole event we raised over $55,000. For St. Baldrick’s and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
We will be putting pictures up in the lunchroom as supporters.
St. Baldrick’s events have raised approximately $150 million, providing research grants to doctors and scientists at more than 200 institutions.
Going bald is not for everyone. But you can still help! Visit www.St.Baldricks.org click Get Involved, event name is St. Charles Challenge (or give me a call at 630-921-1978, or st.charleschallenge@gmail.com ) to see other ways to be involved! You can sign up to be a volunteer, set up a fundraising page, make a donation on behalf of a participant (or to the event as a whole) or simply help us by spreading the word.
Together, let’s Conquer Kids’ Cancer!
Sincerely,
Brooks Nicewarner
