MHS Updates
MHS School Goal-Increase Academic Proficiency
- Are you having difficulty understanding?
- What type of effort are you putting into your grades?
- What is your plan to improve your grades? (let the students own their grades)
As I speak with students who are struggling there is a theme; lack of effort, motivation, and organization. I encourage you to look at ParentVue, when you see a missing assignment and/or zero ask your child to explain. Did they forget to something in or simply not do it?
Most teachers have flexible deadlines, hold off on putting zeroes in the grade book, and allow re-takes. Is your child taking advantage of these?
Our goal is to have a decrease in each data set you see below be the end of the semester and maintain a decrease. Teachers work within their teams to development action plans for struggling students, but it is the student who must demonstrate the knowledge by turning work in and doing well on assessments.
We must not forget that we also need to celebrate the mastery of many of our students, their hard work and commitment to their education.
