Jamison Journal
January 4, 2016
Welcome 2016!
I'm hopeful that you had the opportunity to celebrate the winter holidays with much health and happiness. Over the past break, I spent time reflecting on many things. I always try to reflect on my family and my relationships with each family member.
I also spent some time thinking about the broken promises of past New Year's resolutions. While it is everyone's intent to keep their New Year's resolution, how many of us actually follow through with our goal? Just as important, what message are we sending to our children? As we enter into 2016, visualize what type of year YOU want it to be. Set the example for your children and live out your goals. Our children deserve it!
I will also continue to reflect on my vision for Jamison and the children I serve. I certainly want 2016 to be a special year; not only for my family, but for the students at Jamison, the faculty, and the entire Jamison community. Best of luck with your New Year's resolution and any of your goals and dreams for 2016!

Jamison Helping Hands
A very warm thank you to everyone who helped to make the holidays better for some local Jamison families. Your donation of gift cards, toys, books, and clothing made the families very happy! The families were extremely grateful and appreciative.
Again, thank you for all of your efforts in making the holidays so special for others!
Weather Information
Dear families,
With the winter weather upon us, I wanted to direct you to district information on school closings, late arrivals, and early dismissals. Click here for that district information.
It is also important to remember that students should come dressed appropriately for recess even during the winter. Having warm clothing will certainly help students enjoy their time on those days that they have outside recess.
Sincerely,
Mr. Croyle

Stop CyberBullying Program
The Network of Victim Assistance (NOVA) and Warwick Police Department are sponsoring a parent forum on cyberbullying and social media on February 10, 2016 beginning at 7:00 p.m. This district wide event will be held at Groveland Elementary School and is intended for all families with elementary aged students. Please visit our website for an informational flyer. Thank you! http://www.cbsd.org/Domain/16
New Car Dismissal Procedure
For the continued safety of our students and to facilitate the expediency of car pickup, especially during inclement weather, the following is the new procedure for car dismissal.
· Each family has been given a card stock placard. Please write the family’s last name(s) in LARGE letters with black marker, so that it is visible from a distance.
· Keep the placard in your glove compartment.
· Upon arrival to car pick-up, place the placard in your front passenger side window, with the family name facing outside. It should sit nicely in the window frame.
· If someone other than yourself will be picking up your child, please give your placard to them. If this is not possible, call the office so the teachers on car dismissal duty can be notified of the change.
