SES High 5 Afterschool

January 2019

Join the Club!

SES High Five Afterschool program welcomed back a student leader, had a Spooner alumna lead a club, switched Monday night leaders, and gained some basketball players. Every one of them adds something new and different to the program.

A Few Leaders in High Five

Emmie Bassett, Spooner graduate, accepted an invitation to lead for one night while home from college winter break. Michelle Wireman now teaches Thursday High Five Afterschool after a short hiatus.

An Old Pastime Comes to Life

Ms. Backus, a third grade day school teacher, joined us on Mondays after school. Comic book making was started with the third and fourth graders. A lot of art and thought.

Rails Way is the High Five Way

The Rails Way behavior program during SES day school is also adhered to in our High Five Afterschool program. Leaders and staff reinforce day time expectations, keeping the transition as smooth as possible. Tickets are given when students show positive behavior from check-in and recess through Snack Time, during WIN/Academic Clubs, and at Activity Time just prior to check-out. Even our van drivers reinforce positive behavior choices by handing out tickets to students who show The Rails Way!

Each grade level will be working toward a monthly incentive. High Five and day school will keep giving away tickets for those being respectful, responsible, and safe.
