A Letter From Your 3rd Grade Teachers!
Dear 3rd Grade Students,
There are so many things we wish we could have done together these last two months of school. More than anything we wish we could be spending this last week in our classroom together, but we are not able to. So, we will think about all the amazing things we were able to do this year. We were able to spend almost seven months together. In this time, we learned so much. We learned math, reading, science and writing, but we also learned to become a family. We learned to care for each other and look out for each other. We became great friends and classmates. We became a school family and there is not anything stronger than a Pirate Family. We shared picnics, recess time, working on projects and ate lunch together every day during these seven months of school. As your teachers, we could not be anymore proud of you and all you have accomplished this year.
At the beginning of the year, we saw around 20 new, nervous faces in our classrooms, but as the days went by we saw you all grow in confidence and strength, and academically and emotionally. At first, we stood in front of you as we walked around the school. It did not take long before we noticed we were now walking side by side with you. As you grew stronger, we began to allow space for you to become the leaders of our grade, or should I say the red hallway. Before we realized it, we were now walking behind you as you now took over leadership of your learning and became responsible for appropriate behaviors in the hallway. Even though our hearts were full and beaming with pride to see you grow, that also meant it was almost time to let you go (to the next grade.)
We want you to know that you all are amazing. You are some of the toughest kiddos in the world. You guys went from learning in class with everything you needed available at your fingertips to having to learn remotely. To see you all be successful in this transition was amazing. We are so proud of you all. We are so thankful and blessed to be your teachers. You are the class we will always remember, always brag about and always follow throughout your years of school. Seeing what you have done during this time only makes us curious to see the things you will accomplish in the years to come. We, your teachers, love you and miss you and we could not be anymore proud to call you “our kids!” Have an incredible summer. Spend some time resting, some time playing and some time reading, and do not forget to come visit us next year!
We Love You All,
The 3rd Grade Teachers
