CLMS Family Update

September 30, 2022

From CLMS Principal, Mr. Eric Pettit

Good Afternoon CLMS Families!

What a fun week of Homecoming festivities, culminating in the football game tonight where our 7th and 8th grade band members will perform alongside the high school marching band! Best of luck to all of our musicians. We cannot wait to see the show!

Included in this family update is a description of our building's "Achievement" score on the recent report card, links for families to sign up for next week's parent/teacher conferences, information, and more!

I also want to congratulate all of our student-athletes for their success on the court/field! Our girls cross country team took 1st place at their meet last weekend, our middle school football and cheer teams picked up a big win last night in Loudonville, and our volleyball team is finishing the year strong in preparation for the league tournament!

Thank you for taking the time to read this Family Update. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me using the contact information below.

As always, Go Pirates!

CLMS State Report Card- Achievement

Big picture
In our first dive of our building report card, we take a look at "Achievement," which measures students academic performance using each level of Ohio's State Tests. CLMS received a 3-star rating, indicating that our building is where the state would expect us to perform. In looking at the picture above, the "Performance Indicators (on the right)" show the percentage of students that scored proficient or higher on the assessment. This is NOT used for the building's Achievement rating, rather it is information for families to know. "Performance Index (on the left)" is used to rate buildings. As we move students to higher levels of achievement on the assessments, the greater amount of points we receive for our overall score. CLMS is using this information to provide professional coaching to teachers in Math and English, review/update our services to our gifted population, and develop building goals to support the needs of all learners in our building!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Our teachers have been working hard to invite families to conferences on Thursday, October 6th. If you did not receive an invitation, but would still like to have a conference, please click on the appropriate link below to sign up for a slot. If you have already confirmed a conference time with a teacher, you do not need to sign up with the links below. Please know that space is very limited for several of our grade level teams. If you are unable to attend any of the available slots but would still like to meet with your student’s teachers, please email your child’s teachers to make other arrangements. The sign-ups will close at 11am on Wednesday, October 5th. Our next round of conferences will be on Thursday, November 10th.

1-Hour Early Release Thursday, October 6th

As a reminder, we will have our first 1-hour early release of the year on Thursday, October 6th. Students will be dismissed at 2:32pm.
