Note From The Director...
Dear Knight Families,
I know that this is just the beginning of school, but as the Director I actually start with the end in mind. What do I mean by that exactly? The Greeks called it Telos. It is the ultimate goal or aim. One of my ultimate goals is that we build a culture of excellence at DCA that is based on the good, the true and the beautiful. We work together to make the most of every moment we have. We emphasize poetry, math songs, and JOY from the first day. We do not believe in wasted time. We believe that procedures are not "rules," they are "expectations of behavior as a human being". The first two weeks of School are about the Procedures, Expectations and Schedule by using Math, Reading, Pledges, and JOY! We believe that to achieve the culture of excellence, we cannot do it alone. We must partner with each family and they with us to truly be OUR BEST. I hope you all have had a wonderful start, the year has just begun!
Best Regards,
Mrs. Scott

Note from Coach Butler...
I am so excited about starting up all the different programs I have planned for this year. The initial interest form for the After-school sports, family exercise club, and family running club was off the charts. I am awe-struck by how many people are interested in this. So with that being said here are the official sign-up forms. You will need to fill this one out even if you did the first form.
The first form is the Family exercise class and Family Cardio Club. A parent/guardian must be present for their student to participate. This sign-up is for students in Kindergarten - 5th grade.

Meet Mrs. Hook - Kindergarten
I was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Texas when I was seven years old. Growing up I was an active kid who loved to play outside and explore. Learning did not come easy for me when I was younger and I struggled in school. Nevertheless, these challenges taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance, and not being afraid to ask for help.
I received my bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University, and I am now happily married with two amazing daughters in college. I love my family, faith, music, and good food.
I enjoy anything outdoors, especially going for a good hike. We live on a farm and have had the privilege to house several different animals: horses, chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, cattle, donkeys, a pot belly pig, and a large bunny named Mr. Biggs. However, now that my girls are in college our farm is down to goats and cattle.
I have nine years of experience teaching preschoolers, with the last two years
working at a school in Denton ISD. Why I love working with young children is their endless amount of joy, their inquisitive spirit, and fun-loving attitudes.
Benjamin Franklin once said, “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” These are words that I try to teach by!
