What Hypochondia is:
Hypochondia is a Mental disorder. The definition of this disorder is a person who is abnormally anxious about their health.
The symptoms of someone who is a Hypochondriac:
Having long term intense fear or anxiety about having a serious disease or health conditions.
worrying that minor symptoms or bodily sensations means you have a serious illness.
What causes someone to be a Hypochodriac?
There may be a biological predisposition or this disorder can also be a learned behavior. A child who already suffers from an anxiety disorder are more prone to also having this disorder as well. Children with a family member who are ill or have recently been lost have a very high chance of being a hypochondriac.
Treatments:
The first step of controlling this mental disorder is to acknowledge that the disorder exists, the next step will be to convince yourself that there is no medical issues but you must commit to the change and this might take more intensive therapy because some will still be able to feel the physical symptoms that you are imagining.
