Greetings Imagine Broward Families!

School of Distinction

As you may remember, last year we prepared for our 5 year accreditation renewal from Cognia (formerly known as SACS). After the visit, we learned we not only received the renewal, but we also earned some of the highest scores in the country.

On Monday morning we learned we have been recognized as a School of Distinction. Across the world, educators dedicate themselves to maximizing opportunities for learners. The Schools of Distinction program recognizes schools and systems that exemplify excellence in education, as demonstrated in meeting the Cognia Performance Standards. You can find a list of the institutions receiving this honor on a web page, //Cognia.org/Distinction Please note that 80 schools from around the WORLD earned this honor and we are so proud and honored to be one of them!

We are Growing!

We were granted our conditional use permit to build a gymnasium, stage, and 12 classrooms. We are so excited to expand and bring new facilities to our school. The expansion is planned to be open next year for the 2022-2023 school year. The location of the new building is on our back field. With an indoor gymnasium, we can expand our middle school athletics, hold PE indoors during inclement weather and the Florida heat, and have family and school events indoors with a larger facility. The new building will have a stage for our drama productions, band concerts, graduation events, and ceremonies. The 12 classrooms will hold our middle school classrooms so they can have a unique separate space. I want to thank our Governing Board members for their support, vision, and time dedicated to our future.

The construction will have little impact on our current school operations. The back field will be safely sectioned off with fencing. Coach Jordao along with our school development committee has proactively planned spaces for PE classes and FunFit. The last loop in the back car line will be sectioned off with barricades. Please adhere to new traffic patterns. Construction updates are forthcoming.

Foxmar Make-up Pictures

This Thursday morning we have make-up pictures for students who were unable to get their photo taken by Foxmar. Students are to be dressed in their school uniform.

Recognition

We will be honoring students this Friday for making Honor Roll (As & Bs) and Principal's Roll (straight As) for 1st quarter. Students will be receiving certificates and the PTO has made a special goodie bag for those earning straight As. Also, we will be recognizing those students who have exemplified one of our Shared Values of "Justice."

Face Mask Policy

The School Board of Broward County approved an amendment to revise its face covering policy as of Saturday, November 20, 2021. The revised policy will make the use of face coverings optional, but strongly encouraged for students, staff, and visitors at all schools and District offices. Imagine Broward is strongly encouraging students to continue wearing a facial covering while indoors on school property. The School Board is not requiring any formal opt out process. However, if you would prefer for your child(ren) to opt-out of wearing a mask, please fill out this google form to indicate your decision so teachers are aware of your preference for our child. The health and well-being of our students and staff is paramount and we will continue to follow Broward County District, as well as the Florida Department of Health’s guidelines for quarantining. We rely heavily on parents and guardians as the first line of care and awareness for potentially ill students. Please remember to monitor your child for symptoms of COVID-19. If your child develops any COVID-19 symptoms, please keep them home and contact the school to inform us.

PTO

Imagine Broward is always grateful for our PTO's support. They will be having their annual Holiday Shop Nov. 29 through Dec. 3 during our media time. It is a cute inexpensive safe shopping experience for students to buy gifts for their loved ones. Please look for the flyer in your child's backpack.

Clinic

We are in desperate need of clinic volunteers to cover our clinic for our little ones throughout the rest of the school year. It is imperative that we coverage in the clinic every day as this service falls to the office.
We have encountered quite a few last-minute cancellations and no-shows for scheduled shifts. Please contact Jessica at 954–471–2974 to book yourself into a shift or if you are unsure of any of your clinic dates in the future. We require at least a week notification for shift cancellation (so that we can ensure coverage) with the exception of unforeseen circumstances and illness.
As well if you would like to be placed on a cancellation list, so that you can be contacted to cover these last-minute cancellations please call/text Jessica at 954-471-2974.
We would like to extend a huge thank you on behalf of Jessica and the school for all of our valued clinic volunteers, the service cannot be provided without your overwhelming support, you guys are amazing! ♥️
