Weekly Campus Newsletter
Week of March 29th- April 2nd, 2021
This week students will be hearing more about Habit 1, Be Proactive, during our morning announcements. Being proactive means being responsible, taking initiative, and understanding how you are in control of your actions, attitude and mood. Take time to talk to your student about how they are proactive including doing the right thing even when nobody is looking.
We have many students transitioning to in person learning over the next few weeks. Please remember to send your child with a face mask and charged iPad daily. The Dr. Owl screener must be completed Monday morning before your child can enter the building. Please contact the school if you have any questions. Be sure to attend every day to help your class win attendance incentives from PSCC! Don't forget, Friday is a district holiday. Enjoy your 3 day weekend!
We En las próximas semanasvan a regresar muchos alumnos a clases presenciales.

Art is a way that we as humans can express what we are feeling. Often, we may even be able to express our emotions with a picture when we cannot put them into words. As we create our Cardboard Kids this week, talk to your students about how they feel when they are creating something—is it soothing to them? Do they feel a sense of accomplishment when they see the finished product? The picture below shows a quick, easy activity you could use as an Emotions Check-in. We have been having students check in using words all year. This week, have them demonstrate their emotions through artful expression.
Family Activity: Campuses will post pictures of the Cardboard Kid creations displayed on their campus to social media to help bring awareness to our community about child abuse and neglect. San Antonio ranks highest in the state of Texas for confirmed cases of child abuse and neglect. It takes all of us working together to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our children.
