This Week at MHS

Here's what's happening August 2nd - 6th!

Dear MHS Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 21-22 School Year! We are excited to welcome everyone back to the building this week!

On the staggered start days each student will start in their Homeroom. Homeroom Lists will be posted at the bus entrance, cafeteria area, and the gym area. In homeroom students will receive their schedule, laptop, and find out whether they will go to A, B or C Lunch. Please see below for each day's schedule.

A few traffic reminders as we all converge back to one destination:

  • Lawrence Ave between Cedar Street and Melrose is closed from 7:30am-7:50am and from 3:00-3:45pm for bus loading and unloading
  • Melrose between Mountain Ave and Lawrence is closed from 3-3:45pm for bus loading and unloading.
  • All Car Riders are dropped off and picked up in front of the gym.
  • All parking spots are numbered and are assigned to students and faculty. Please do not park in a numbered spot that is not assigned to you.

Open House will be Tuesday, August 10th. Counselors will be presenting information starting at 6pm, and parents will begin walking through their child's schedule at 7pm.

Wishing everyone a great week!

Sincerely,

MHS Faculty and Staff

LUNCH INFORMATION

Lunch and breakfast are FREE to all students again this year. However, it is still important for those who qualify for free meals under the USDA National School Lunch program to complete an application. In addition to the reasons noted on the flyer below and the fee waivers parents find so helpful, you can also receive discounts through Maryville Alcoa Parks and Recreation. The online application process is simple to follow:

Also, paper copies of the application are available at your school. Only one application per family. One tip for those applying is to submit gross income (before taxes and benefits).

PARKING FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR

If a senior does not wish to paint a parking spot, he or she can reserve a spot beginning July 29 until August 6.

Any remaining spots will be offered to juniors beginning on August 9.

Parking Forms can be accessed through the file below

BUS ROUTES

As we begin the 2021-2022 school year, bus routes will remain as they were last school year and will be adjusted as needed. When those adjustments occur, both this website and the GPS app will be updated. If you have any questions, please contact our Transportation Coordinator, JOE PINKERTON, at (865) 982-7121.
