Trimester 1 Most Valuable Bobcats!
WTB teachers nominated worthy students at the end of Trimester 1 for recognition in many categories. A panel of teachers reviewed the nominations and selected our Walter T. Bergen Most Valuable Bobcats. Below is an attachment to view the list of the students that earned Most Valuable Bobcat. Congratulations to these outstanding students!!
WTB Honor Roll Students - Trimester 1
See the attachment for a list of Honor Roll and High Honor Roll students for grades 5-8. High Honor Roll students earned all grades of 90 or higher. Honor Roll students earned all grades of 85 or higher. Certificates can be viewed for your student in the Genesis Parent Portal, under Documents. Congratulations to all of these students for their hard work in the classroom!
WTB Holiday Concert
On December 15, our band students, led by Mrs. Lehman performed beautifully for families, friends, staff members and students in attendance. The show was creative, fun and festive. The students looked great and sounded great. Congratulations to all of our band students and to Mrs. Lehman for an impressive performance! See the Bobcat Blast newspaper link that I shared earlier to view more pictures.
WTB Boy's and Girl's Basketball
Our Boy's and Girl's basketball teams are working hard, steadily improving and demonstrating basketball skill and athletic ability on the hardwood this season. A highlight occurred on Friday, December 10 when both teams defeated rival Richard Butler School. Students that want to attend home games are supervised by a staff member after school from 3:15- 4:00. Just let the main office know that your child will not be on the bus if they are attending a game. See the schedule below and come out to support our Bobcats!
Intramurals and After School Clubs
Intramurals for all grades are running during the winter months. Many students are involved in Art Club, Yearbook, Newspaper and Student Council. This year, we are also offering a variety of after school clubs that are funded by a small fee from families of participating students. Soccer and Knockout club has just ended. A video game club/competition ran in November and December. A STEAM club is being planned for after the New Year. Be on the lookout for more teacher-led, after school clubs throughout the school year. Students that are involved in after school activities are often more successful during the school day as well.

WTB i-Ready Diagnostic Test #2
In late January, all WTB students will complete an assessment in i-Ready to determine their progress in ELA and Math skills. The first diagnostic test was taken in September, and the results were shared with parents. Please encourage your child(ren) to try their best on these assessments. The results provide valuable and specific data for our teachers that will help them plan their instruction moving forward. A third and final assessment will be given at the end of the school year.
