South Row's Home Link
Week of: February 19th & 26th 2024
Message from the Principals
This is a two week edition of home link and packed with lots of information and dates to mark on your calendar! We hope you can carve a few moments to review the content!
We will be conducting an ALICE drill the week we return. Staff will preview safety information with students prior to the drill. We will communicate with families when the drill is complete. This link will include the videos that the students will watch to prepare for the drills.
In conjunction with our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair, South Row is participating in a coin drive called “All for Books”. Your small change can make a big difference! The goal of this coin drive is to purchase as many books as possible for this year’s selected local charity, the Greater Lowell YMCA. If you and your family would like to participate, please see the details below.
Have a wonderful week and a restful February break!
Respectfully,
Terri and Jayson

Nurses Corner
Dear South Row Families,
I have seen an increased rate of strep throat at South Row. It does not appear to be specific to a classroom or grade level. Strep can present in different ways. Sometimes small children complain of persistent abdominal pain or will have nausea and vomiting. Some children will present with a rash only or rash and fever.
We are also still seeing some GI illnesses. If your student has had fever, diarrhea, or vomiting, they must be 24 hours symptom free without medication before they can return to school. If your child has persistent symptoms for greater than 1 week and I have not spoken with you, please reach out to me.
Lastly, if your student tests positive for Covid, please reach out to me. The student must stay home from school for 5 days. Day 0 is the first day of symptoms or the day of the positive test if the student does not have symptoms. The student returns to school on day 6.
