March 6, 2023
We have our big Open House/Family night this Thursday, March 9 from 4:00-6:00! Come check out some of the outdoor learning activities that will be displayed in the classrooms and on the upper playground. We will have a fire for roasting marshmallows for s'mores. There will be an inverted art show in our gym by our very own, art teacher, Stephanie Kohli, with students own inverted art work on display. Soup and breadsticks along with a hot chocolate bar will be on display.
We invite you to bring other families with you to see our school and meet the staff. The application period runs until April 28th! We hope to see everyone at this fun filled event!

Parent Teacher Conferences
A big shout out to our families that provided dinner to our staff both nights of conferences! Everyone enjoyed the baked potato and taco bar and desserts. Our Maple Grove Families are fantastic! Thank you!
Thank you to all our families for coming to your child's conference. Please know that our teachers are available at anytime throughout the year to answer questions, give updates, or provide guidance on how to support. If you were not able to attend your child's conference please reach out to your child's teacher to schedule another date and time and they would be happy to meet with you.
Read Across America Week
It was a short but action packed week for Read Across America! We had dress up days, opportunities for kids to earn Caught Loving Reading slips to put in for a drawing to win a book, which they will come home with tonight, and a penny war to support our upcoming Sock Hop. We ended our week with a short assembly where some of our 4th and 5th graders put on a skit of the Lorax and the top 4 staff members from the penny war got a pie in the face!
A big Thank You to all of our Mystery Readers who came in and shared their love of reading with all our different grade levels! The kids love hearing others read!
Kwik Trip Cards
As always, we are reminding and encouraging our families to support their learners buy purchasing Kwik Trip gift cards! Please bring money and details (if you want a certain dollar amounts) into the office and we can fill your order! This is a year long fundraiser that our Governance board does to raise money to support our Field Trips to the Merrill School Forest. Please call the office with any questions.
Sap Season-Volunteers Needed
Sap season is upon us and we couldn't be more excited for spring to arrive and the sap to start flowing. This Friday, March 10 we are looking to tap our maple trees we marked in the fall and hang our bags. Learners will also have an opportunity to tap the new pipeline int the afternoon. We are looking for volunteers again on Friday, March 10th from about 8:30-11 to help us get our trees tapped and bags hung. Please message me or call the office and let us know if you would be interested in helping out. We appreciate our volunteers so much and are so thankful we are able to continue this tradition!
Our next PTO meeting will be March 13th at 5:00. We could use you there with new ideas and help with our upcoming Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser.
Just a reminder that if your child or children gets sent home or is home with a fever, throwing up, or having diarrhea they need to remain home for 24 hours after symptoms are gone.
