Welcome Back Wildcats
August 2023 Edition
Dear Wildcat Families
Happy August LWES Families!
We are so excited to welcome you all back for the 2023-24 school year. I hope that you had some time to rejuvenate over the summer. This summer my family sure enjoyed our beautiful Pacific Northwest weather, one of our highlights was camping near the ocean! This is a picture of one adventure my family took to Birch Bay. My plan is to bottle up the peaceful feeling and carry it with me throughout the year!
Please see the important messages below to prepare your student for the start of the year.
With Gratitude,
Melanie Ready
Principal

To Our New Wildcat Families
To our new families, welcome to our Wildcat school family! I am honored to be going into my fourth year as principal here and every day I am grateful for the opportunity to work side-by-side with staff and students in support of quality learning.
I am also honored to be your familyβs partner as we work each day towards our K.I.N.D. commitments. Thank you for trusting our staff to care and support your learner. Please know that my door is always open, and I look forward to knowing your family better in support of growing hearts and minds every day.

How Will Your Student(s) Get Home Every day After School - Please Fill Out Survey
Our number one priority is the safety of our students at LWES. Each year we reach out to families to clarify your studentβs way home has not changed since our last school year. Please fill in the requested information in the link to specify how your student will go home EACH day. The information we receive from this survey is recorded and kept in the office for the entire year. Please fill out a survey for each student you have attending LWES.
If at any time you need to make a temporary or permanent change, please relay that information to the office by 1:15 pm on or before the day it will be in effect. This information allows us to operate a smooth and safe dismissal time!
There are four options for students at the end of the day:
*B-Bus: Bus route numbers TBD
*EEP: after-school care
*W-Walker: student walks home or parent/adult meets student in the plaza
*PU-Car Pick Up: car pickup with family placard number** OR Daycare transportation
**Family car placards are assigned and can be picked up at the Meet and Greet event on Monday, 8/28
If your student is on a bus route, we encourage them to ride on the first day of school to access accurate counts. If your child will go home a different way than what is indicated below, please contact the main office NO LATER than 30 minutes before the end of the school session.
Due to the short turnaround for the first day of school, please fill this link out by Monday, August 14, 2023. https://forms.gle/pP468i2nJx4e5awG6
Thank you!
