The Constitution
We continued studying the events leading up to the American Revolution.
Barriers in Illinois History
The students learned about a law from 1853. Ask your scholar to explain how one barrier was broken and another barrier was created.
Request for Class Supplies It’s that time of year when we have a lot of sneezing, coughing, and runny noses in the classroom. We could use some paper towels, disinfectant wipes, and tissues so the kids don’t spread germs.

Thursday, 10/10: Exploring Time and Space Paragraphs (Historical Context) Due in Google Classroom
Thursday, 10/17: Sources #1 Due in Google Classroom-2 primary sources and 3 secondary sources (Bibliography format)
Classroom Happenings
This week, students spent time researching their topics for National History Day. All topics must be related to this year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers in History”.
Students learned about the historical context of their topics, the characteristics of annotated bibliographies, and how to analyze photographs.
National History Day is Monday, December 16, 2019 at Hixson Middle School from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.
