Sara is going to Menchies. At Menchies they charge per ounce. 1 ounce costs \$0.75If her Frozen Yogurt is 0-9 ounces, how much will she pay?

## Equation

Tutti Frutty : y = 0.35x + 2.00

x = number of ounces

Menchies : y = 0.25x

x = number of ounces

Point of Intersection : (5, 3.75)

## Reflection

The point of intersection is (5, 3.75). The point of intersection in this problem is when the cost for Tutti Fruity and Menchies meet and cross each other. The independent variable in this problem is how much each ounce is. It doesn't change, it doesn't matter if you get 5 ounces or 9 ounces each ounce will cost either \$0.75 (Menchies) or \$0.35 (Tutti Fruity). The dependent variable in this problem is the number of ounces. That is because if I go to Tutti Fruity the workers there already know that I will be paying \$2.00 because that is how much each cup is. But they don't know how many ounces I get until I weigh it. The graph and table are similar because the graph is just a drawn out version of the table. The equations are similar to the graph and table because the equations is how you find the points on the graph and the numbers in the table. A linear function is a graph with a straight line. A linear function has one independent variable and one dependent variable.
