In The Know
The 2nd Key Idea of a PLC: A Collaborative Culture and Collective Responsibility - The second big idea of the PLC process is that in order to ensure that all students learn at high levels, educators must work collaboratively and take collective responsibility for the success of each student. In a PLC, collaboration represents a systematic process in which teachers work interdependently in order to impact their classroom practice in ways that will lead to better results for their students, for their team, and for their school. Working together to build shared knowledge on the best way to achieve goals and meet the needs of those they serve is exactly what professionals in any field are expected to do, whether it is curing the patient, winning the lawsuit, or helping all students learn.
Pre-Arranged Absences - Please be sure that if a student comes to you and asks to make preparations for an absence, that they have the prearranged (and signed by me) absence form. Some students and families are skipping this process. I will be working with families to make sure they are aware. Please check in with your students and make sure they have this form if they come to you with this request. If they do not have the signed form, please be sure to have them visit with Kym Ramsing in Attendance. Thank you for your attention to this detail.
