Making Way for Fall

What a busy week here at TMS. Our teachers have been able to challenge our students to do their best throughout the school day. At the same time, so many more students staying after school for activities like coding, theater, sports, student council, movie night, and so much more. The school is filled with energy!

For a $1.00 donation towards our Adopt-a-Family program, TMS will have a Halloween dress-up day on Friday, October 29th.

Students will hand in their money during 1st period that morning.

The guidelines for the day are as follows:

- Costumes may not have parts that interfere with learning. No full-face Halloween masks or costumes that restrict movement or vision or prevent sitting at desks or are an obstruction in the hallways. (Your regular COVID mask must still be worn on these days).

- Costumes may not promote violence or have accessories or props that could be used as a weapon.

- Absolutely NO clown costumes will be allowed!

- Please do not bring food or candy into school on this day.

Thank you for following these guidelines, and we look forward to seeing fun, creative costumes!

Many of our students feel very strongly about the concerns around vaping. They made the video below to help educate us all.

Looking for Fleece

Looking for fleece donations for a workshop our former Art teacher, Ms. Cassidy, is doing with the students at the Middle School. TMS is looking for 2 - 2 1/2 yard pieces of fleece to make blankets to benefit the community. In the past, we have made over 50 blankets and donated them to the homeless, Tyngsborough PD and FD. We are also hoping to donate some to the elderly and Adopt a Family program. Thanks in advance for any donations for this community service workshop project.

TMS Under The Stars

A great night for a movie on Thursday with our student council. Over 60 students, parents and chaperones enjoyed "Goosebumps" under the stars. Thanks to Mr. Holgate and Ms. Slattery for pulling it together with all the help from the rest of the staff here at TMS.

Test and Stay Consent

The Tyngsborough Public Schools will be participating in the Test and Stay program as offered by DESE this year.

The goal of “Test and Stay” is to allow asymptomatic students and staff to remain in school as safely as possible, while lessening the burden of school related quarantine on students, their families, teachers, and school administrators. Under the “Test and Stay” approach, students who come into contact during a school related event with an individual who tests positive will have the option of quarantine or “Test and Stay.” Those who participate in the TPS “Test and Stay” program do not need to quarantine with negative test results. The “Test and Stay” program is a daily nasal swab performed by the school nurse or other qualified healthcare professional for 5-7 days following exposure.

For your student to be eligible for this program, we must have signed consent on file before testing can occur. If we do not have a consent form on file, your student will need to quarantine for a minimum of 7 days. If you would like your student to participate in the “Test and Stay” program, please visit this link and fill in the consent form.

NOTE: The above consent form references pooled testing, symptomatic testing and Test and Stay. Please know that the Tyngsborough Public Schools will only be performing symptomatic testing for students who present with symptoms of COVID-19 during school hours (students should not come to school if they are feeling sick while at home) and testing related to the Test and Stay Program. We will not be participating in pooled testing.

Proof of Vaccination

Proof of Vaccination

As a reminder in an effort to better understand our current vaccination rate, and to assess how close we are to the 80% threshold we would like to give parents the option to provide proof of vaccination for your child. If your child has received the COVID-19 vaccination and you would like this information added to your child’s health record, please provide proof of vaccine through one of the following options:

  • Reply to ( with an attached copy of vaccination card

  • Secure Health Office Fax (978) 649-9194

  • Photocopy your student’s proof of vaccination and send it into the school nurse in a sealed envelope addressed to the Health Office

While the school nurses have access to the Massachusetts State Immunization Registry which is a database that keeps confidential vaccination records in one place. Individuals choose to opt into this database which is typically offered by the primary care physician, or they may decline to have the information shared. As a result, our nurses do not always have the most updated information. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Students need headphones

Please make sure your child brings their headphones to school. The school provided a pair but many have lost or broken them. Thanks for your help.

If your child will be Absent, Tardy or will need to be Dismissed during the school day, please call the school at 978-649-3115 and use prompt #1, or you may email, our new attendance email address. Thank you!
