The Sky Is Falling!!!!
Run, run and don't ever come back
The Savage nodded, frowning. "You got rid of them. Yes, that's just like you. Getting rid of everything unpleasant instead of learning to put up with it. Whether 'tis better in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them...But you don't do either. Neither suffer nor oppose. You just abolish the slings and arrows. It's too easy." (Huxley 238)
the stars collide with fury
They're coming, keep running
it rains down acid
This World Somewhat Sucks
When you turn on the news, the main types of stories broadcasted are filled with either sadness, death, corruption and the occasional joyous events. However, for the most part the news is a very depressing thing to watch. For example, the case of the death of Michael Brown has gone viral; yet, there are many different sides to the same story. According to CNN, “Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, was shot dead on August 9 by Darren Wilson, a white police officer. Some witnesses say the teenager assaulted the officer at the outset and tried to grab his gun; other witnesses say Wilson was the aggressor.” This source provided a timeline that showed two different sides from witnesses. Both sides were similar but ranged differently when it came to the specific details. Regardless of how this hapless situation unfolded, it ended with the death of a teenager and the man who allowed this to happen, walked free, and a devastated mother lost her son. Another example of why society today is a dystopia is the occurrence of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. When 20 year old Adam Lanza killed his mother, he then went to Sandy Hook Elementary and murdered twenty students and six adults. CNN reports, “In another classroom, Victoria Soto, 27, moved her first-grade students away from the door. The gunman burst in and shot her, according to the father of a surviving student. Six students were killed in that classroom.” After shooting and killing all of those innocent people, Lanza then shot and killed himself. This world is full of people who want to rule everything or eliminate anyone who gets in their way. A dystopian society is primarily based on a small group of people who use fear and brainwashing to get what they want. Crime is arising like the sun in the morning awaiting the day to come. One of the truest acts of a dystopian society is the act of legal abortion. It is encouraged to get abortions or even take pills to hinder the creation of life; however, dog fighting is illegal. When did the life of an animal become more important than the life of a human being? Both acts are wrong but somehow the life of an animal is valued more than the life of a baby. This society has been simplified in the aspect of education and pure common sense that even holding a face to face conversation is a hurdle for many people. This is due to the extreme advancements in technology and computer skills. These inventions are nowhere near bad, if they are used for the correct purposes; however, they are slowly taking us away from living our daily lives, which eventually leaves us brainwashed and consumed by our devices.
Demons inside
This song is called “Demons” and it’s by Zeds Dead. It relates perfectly to a Dystopian theme because the way the music comes across as very dark and scary. It’s an instrumental song but words couldn’t make it any scarier. When the word Dystopia is brought up, one can think of it as a place where the government controls all things, but not for the good of the citizens; merely for the good of themselves. A dystopia contains a mass amount of power in one branch, which normally makes the decisions without a second thought of how it would affect the country and their people. Sometimes fear tactics and bribery are used to ensure that whoever is leading the government, their wishes are fulfilled. They believe that if they can get people to fear them and what they are capable of doing, the citizens will listen; even if it’s just out of fear for their lives. Demons by Zeds Dead convey a very spooky side to a dystopian society because of the iconic drops and bass completions. If you listen closely, you can even hear the sudden noises of men sounding as if they had just had the wind knocked out of them. You can also hear the electrifying pangs as if they’re being shot through the air to force someone to act upon one’s wishes. In the video, there are fight scenes which also enhance the mindset of a dystopia; as well as the countless number of zombies and devils that appear on the screen.

Genetically Modified People and Organisms are Wrong!
The society we live in today is advancing rapidly every single day, but is it enough to have genetically modified people and organisms? When I think of a genetically modified organism, I automatically think,” this must be perfect because everything that can cause a mutation or sickness has been eliminated.” That generally is the case which is proven in “Brave New World.” Every character in this book has been genetically modified from conception which enables them be perfect. No one gets sick nor do they grow old. They simply die when the government believes they have been around for too long. I am completely against the creation of genetically modified people and organisms. It’s a process that can become a huge problem if not handled delicately. Due to my religion, I have to disagree with GMPs because it goes against the natural way of creation that God has provided for us. It also takes away the opportunity for one to be an individual. If everyone else around you is exactly like you, there is no possible way for you to be different. For example, in the novel, Bernard, was very different from the other Alphas. He was inferior mentally and in physical stature. For the most part he was ridiculed for being the way he was, when in all reality, it wasn’t his fault. When being conditioned as a fetus, he was given too much alcohol in his blood surrogate which caused him to feel different and think differently than the other Alphas, even though he grew up in the same environment with the same exposures. There have been cases of genetically modified people in today’s society. “Fifteen of the children were born in the past three years as a result of one experimental program at the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science of St Barnabas in New Jersey.” (Daily News UK) There was another case of genetically modified children in New Jersey. “Genetic fingerprint tests on two one-year- old children confirm that they have inherited DNA from three adults --two women and one man. The fact that the children have inherited the extra genes and incorporated them into their 'germline' means that they will, in turn, be able to pass them on to their own offspring.” This means that when these children become adults and have children, their children will inherit some of the genes from all three original parents as well. However, there is a problem when it comes to genetically modified people, according to the Institute for Responsible Technology, “by mixing genes from totally unrelated species, genetic engineering unleashes a host of unpredictable side effects such as massive collateral damage that produces new toxins, allergens, carcinogens, and nutritional deficiencies.” These effects can cause serious problems for people and our future. I believe people deserve the right to be different and having genetically modified people will just take that away from them. I am completely against genetically modified people because it destroys ones chances of being their own individual.
