3 Weeks until Winter Break!
Weekly progress reports are now being sent home through email with your student's grades, attendance, and missing work! Make sure we have a current email in Skyward so that you can get these notifications.
Schedule changes have happened. Students will have all of their core classes in the morning, between 9-12:40 each day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
You and your student will need to check skyward for which class happens at which period
Example:
Period 2: meets from 9:00-9:40
Specials (PE, Art Etc): meets from 9:45-10:25
Period 4: meets from 10:30- 11:10
Period 6: meets from 11:15-11:55
Period 8: meets from 12:00-12:40
The afternoon is open for students to work with teachers in small group or individual sessions if they need to. There will be an open work/help session for students from 3:20-4:00 school day where most of the 7th grade teachers will be in one google meet in separate breakout rooms so that students can meet with any teacher in one location to get help on work/clarification on lesson. PTO meetings!!!
- the meetings are monthly on the third Tuesday of each month from 5:30 - 6:30 via ZOOM. Dates for this year are December 15, January 19, February 16, March 16, April 20 and May 18. Have interested parents contact me at jenbeloit@gmail.com (easier than the full address, and forwards right to my SDB) and we'll get them in the event invites!

- WEDNESDAY EXPECTATIONS - students will need to check their Google classrooms for each teacher and see if they have any independent tasks/assignments to complete.

What's Happening in ELA This Week!
Class:
This week we will be working on Activity 2.14 and 2.15. We will also be working on small sections of our Embedded Assessment. There will be another Nearpod for students to build background knowledge for the assessment.
Homework:
Students will need to read for 15 each day and fill out a daily reading response form. Students MUST watch the video posted each day to prepare for the next class!
Office hours are from 1:45-3:10 every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Students need to go to meet.google.com and enter the code: Kincaid7thELA
Lanman:
Class: We will be writing a claim about our individual topics & delving into the research article while also introducing how to write a counterclaim.
Homework: Finish filling out the claim portion of the Individual Constructed Essay for Week 10.
What's Happening in Math This Week!
Class: Students will continue working on 2.4 and 2.5 Multiplying and dividing rational numbers.
Homework: Decimals nearpod from previous week and Multiplying/dividing fractions worksheet
Mr Bethke:
Attendance was solid for another week but now we are striving towards completing work and staying ahead of the game. For the best understanding...please watch the videos in the BIM ebook or videos within google class. Students can visit Dreambox & KhanAcademy.org any time.
Regular Math homework:
Many students still need to complete the Chapter 1 Test for Math 7 and the Precourse Test found in BIM. We will continue on with Prac 2.5 (dividing rational numbers) this week. There will be an Exit Ticket in google dealing with 2.4 as well.
Advanced Math homework:
The Precourse test is due this week. We will begin work on BIM Prac 1.3 on variables on both sides and possibly get to BIM Prac 1.4 equations and formulas. There will be an Exit Ticket in google on Prac 1.2 as well.

What's Happening in Social Studies This Week!
Reading: Lesson 7 Trade and Development
Discussion: Understanding the concept of comparative advantage and how countries choose the products that they utilize for trade.
Assignments: Lesson Reading, and guiding questions of the lesson.
What's Happening in Science This Week!
In Science this week, we will be starting our new pilot program called TWIG Science. It has an Engineering focus and is going to be super fun. I am excited to see what fun and exciting projects our young Engineers can create.

EL Resource Room / Aula de Recursos para EL
The EL Department has created an EL Resource Room in order to help support our EL students. Students will be able to find the Google Meet links for the office hours of Ms. Moore, Ms. Bakken and Ms. Rosa in order to get individualized help on their assignments. Additional resources can also be found posted there, including a large Virtual Library.
