Miss Brown's Bulletin
Week of April 18-22
Showcase
The Spring Showcase is this week! 12 of our classmates have signed up to come to the showcase and sing our class song. If you turned in a permission slip for your child, a reminder will come home Monday in your child's planner, reminding you of the time and date of the event. If for some reason you can no longer make it and have your child signed up, please let me know in advance if possible. Also, if you do not receive a reminder and would like your child to be a part of the showcase, let me know and I can send another permission slip home for you to complete. It has to be turned in before the showcase.
The showcase begins at 6:30 pm and will last until around 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 21.

STAR Results
The final STAR Assessments for the year are taking place. Results will come home next Monday with a letter explaining what to look for as far as personal growth for the year, and personal growth from the last test taken in February to the most recent test that was taken.
It's hard to believe that KPREP is only 3 weeks away! Look at your child's scores together and praise them for their hard work this year. If you have any questions about your child's progress or how to read the results, please let me know.

Language Arts
This week students will continue to read our text "One Well" to learn more about water on Earth. While reading this informational text, students will practice answering questions using the key details from the text, finding the main idea, and using context clues, prefixes and suffixes to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words.
Math
We will continue to study Topic D this week, looking at fractions on a number line. Students will have a quiz over Topic D on Friday.
