Bransford Blast
September 17, 2017
Terrific Texan Families,
We ended a wonderful week with our first pep rally of the 2017-2018 school year! This action packed pep rally debuted our new Drumfit equipment. Our fifth graders entertained the crowd by drumming along to music. Thank you to our PTA for purchasing this equipment for us. Drumfit will be on display on Thursday evening during PTA and the Bransford Experience.
In addition to Drumfit, students were honored for exemplifying effective communication skills in our monthly Portrait of a Texan recognitions. Students were chosen by their homeroom teachers for communicating well with others, articulating thinking, and being good listeners. Ask your Texan how he or she practices being an effective communicator.
The pep rally also served to kick-off PTA's fall fundraiser, Laps for Learning. Last year's Laps for Learning funds purchased two water bottle fillers, Drumfit for the gym, paid the registration fee for eight staff members to attend Arts Integration training at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., paid the registration fee for an additional eight staff members to attend Arts Integration training in Austin, provided coding materials for the campus, purchased chairs for classrooms, and supported a published author coming to BES. These are just a few of the things last year's funds supported. Please see below for more information about Laps for Learning on September 29. All are welcome to come out and cheer on our runners!
This week, we hope to see each of you on Thursday evening for the Bransford Experience. Families have the opportunity to interact with their Texans' teachers to have a glimpse into things they experience at Bransford. The Pre-k, kindergarten, first, and second grade experiences will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The PTA general meeting will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The third, fourth, and fifth grade experiences will be from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Look for more specific details later in the week.
Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday evening!

Laps for Learning
On Friday we kicked off PTA's biggest fundraiser of the fall, Laps for Learning! Laps for Learning is a fun, healthy way to raise money for Bransford Elementary School to support our students and staff!
The PTA is raising money to fund capital improvements, student enrichment, field trips, technology, and classroom supplies. We want to promote a healthy lifestyle to our students and the community.
This year, we have two ways to collect donations. Students can use their envelope to collect cash and checks. Additionally, we have teamed up with The Get Movin’ Crew to make this event fun and allow for online donations (see below for details).
