A message from the principal
Happy October Evergreen Families!
Now that we have had some time to get to know your child, we are excited to share with you what we have learned and goals we will set and achieve this school year.
Conferences will take place this first week on Oct. 4th and 6th. If you haven't yet signed up for a time, please reach out to your child's teacher. Phone, virtual and in-person options are available.
We wrapped up our learning on RESPECT this past month with purposeful people. We celebrated students who were recognized for their growth and modeling of this trait on Sept. 30th with our Tiger Walk of Fame. During this month of October we will be working on Responsibility. You should see a family letter describing what the lessons will look like in each grade level next week. One way to define Responsibility is "taking action and understanding the impact of our choices." Understanding the impact of our choices means that our actions matter. Throughout the school, students will be developing skills like focusing, organizing, and goal-setting.
Students have a few days off this month to be aware of. Monday Oct. 3rd, is a staff planning day. All Staff will be participating in mandatory training so there will be no school for elementary students. On Oct. 20-21 teachers are able to attended MN teachers conference to learn about best practices. Students will be off on those two day.
Finally, we have the district transportation department coming out to paint crosswalks in our back parking lot at the gym door locations for parent pick up. Please be aware when picking up that families are crossing this busy area from 4:00-4:15. Drive carefully and be patient to ensure safety for all. Students are released from these doors beginning at 4:03. Please be at the school for pick up by 4:00. Our staff have had long, busy days. We want to make sure they can have time to prep for the next day before they leave for the evening. Thank you for entrusting us with your students!
