Soup-er Bowl!!
Tomorrow is the final day to cast your vote for the team you think will win the Super Bowl! Will it be the Philadelphia Eagles or the Kansas City Chiefs? To vote, simply bring in non-perishable food items and place them in the collection box of your favorite team. The collection boxes are located in the CMS lobby. Results will be tallied tomorrow and our projected Super Bowl winner will be announced at the end of the day. All donations will be brought to the Open Door Shelter.
CMS Sweetheart Skate Update!
The Sweetheart Skate is SOLD-OUT! We are at capacity, tickets will NOT be sold at the door.
If you are paying by check, please send it in to school with your child(ren) in an envelope marked SWEETHEART SKATE!
All payments are due by Friday.
BAKERS NEEDED!
Help! Help! We need more volunteers to bring something for the bake sale. The sign up is below and store bought items are fine if you can’t bake something yourself! Please help us raise some additional funds for CMS by donating an item (or 2)!
We also need 2-3 volunteers to help us run the event. If you will be there and can help out, please comment below! Thanks!
Elementary Lottery Applications Now Online
Elementary Lottery Applications are now online. Parents of siblings entering CMS next year, remember you must submit a lottery application to receive sibling priority. Simply choose Concord Magnet as your first choice. There will be a question on the application to indicate your child is a CMS sibling. All parents who contacted us regarding your incoming sibling have received an email with all the details. The link below will take you to the district's School Choice page. Scroll down for English and Spanish Application links.

Please Note: Before the lottery is drawn, our office tells the NPS lottery coordinator the names of CMS kindergarten siblings and how many seats need to be reserved. Your child's sibling application will not go into the actual lottery drawing.
CMS siblings in upper grades will immediately be #1 on their grade level's waiting list until we determine space availability. Please contact Terry Lakin at lakint@norwalkps.org with questions.
NPS Kindergarten & New Student Registration Now Open!
Now is the time to start your child's Kindergarten/New Student Registration. Use the following link to get started: https://secure.infosnap.com/family/gosnap.aspx...
After clicking on the link, you will be directed to sign in. If you do not already have an account, you must create one before you can begin the registration process. If you have questions, please contact the NPS Family Center at 203-854-4100.
Please Note: When you are filling out the Registration Form, the computer program will automatically assign your child to your neighborhood elementary school. Do not worry, after the lottery drawing your child will be moved to the Concord Magnet roster once your registration is complete.
Storyteller Won-Ldy Paye
Concord Magnet 4th Graders, along with all of NPS 4th grade students, were treated to a special performance by Won-Ldy Paye, a storyteller from Liberia, West Africa yesterday at Norwalk City Hall. Won-Ldy artfully wove through stories of his life growing up in Liberia, West Africa, showcasing authentic Liberian mask dancing and traditional West African musical instruments.

Library News!
- Students are checking out books again! It's very exciting. As a reminder, books need to come back to school in 8 days or less (not including vacations). Books need to come back in good condition. Please encourage your children to read their library books to you! Here is our student resource list.
- There is still a lot of organization and signage left to do, so we are still seeking volunteers to help. Please contact Mr. Duff at duffc@norwalkps.org or Terry Lakin at lakint@norwalkps.org if you are available.
Did you know that CMS students have access to eBooks, Audiobooks, and Research Resources at school AND home? Click HERE for information on the various programs available and how to access them. Mr. Duff recommends the SORA eBook/Audiobook app.
