This week we are looking at fiction vs non-fiction. We will be focusing on the elements of a non-fiction book.

We are continuing to work on our stories. We are sharing them with a partner and giving each other feedback (what we like, what changes could be made). We will be editing and revising our stories to produce a completed book!

We are in the middle of our unit on energy. This week's focus has been on light energy. Next week, we will discuss sound energy.

Students have been learning the attributes of 3-D shapes. Challenge your child to find ordinary objects that are 3-D shapes and describe them using the attributes vertices, edges and faces. Next week, we will be reviewing for our math CBA. The math CBA is a district test to review concepts learned so far. I do not enter a grade for the test but I will tell the student how they did.

We are beginning our Winter Customs unit. We will be talking about holidays that are celebrated around the world. This unit will take us through the next three weeks. If there are any families that celebrate a holiday other than Christmas, we welcome you to visit our class to give a mini lesson!
