- If you choose for your child to wear a mask at school, please provide your child with a mask and a backup mask in the backpack.
- COVID Updates: COVID notification rules are different. You will only be notified by the school if your child is determined to be a close contact. However, you can always check the Springdale Schools COVID reporting page to see the breakdown of active cases by building. Reach out if you have questions about this change.
- Did you know that you can support our PTA with your Amazon purchases and/or by purchasing a membership to our local Sam's Club? More information is linked below.
- We are looking for substitute teachers and bus drivers for the 2021-22 school year! If you are interested, please reach out to Mrs. Ryan or our district website for more information!
- If your child arrives after 7:45 am, they need to be signed in to the office. You can scan the QR code on your car tag to do this; however, we ask that you still walk them to the front door. If students come up to the door by themselves and if no one is in the office, they are locked out. Thank you for helping us ensure the safety of all our Wildcats!
- Breakfast is served every day from 7:15-7:45 and it's free. If your child has not tried our breakfast, remind them that they can come into the cafeteria any morning and eat breakfast before going to class.
We have an amazing group of classroom teachers. Check out the link below to read your child's grade level news and information.
Our job is to serve your child and your family! Please let us know if you have questions or need help.
Thank you for your partnership,
Mrs. Lynn Ryan, Principal, firstname.lastname@example.org
Mrs. Carrie Farris, Assistant Principal, email@example.com
If you shop on Amazon, you can support our PTA with a few easy steps!
Who shops on Amazon? At NO cost to you, you can help support the PTA just with a click. All you have to do is turn on AmazonSmile so with qualifying orders the PTA receives .5%. You do nothing extra at the time of purchase. As long as it’s turned on they do the rest.
You may think .5% isn’t much but it can really add up. Every little bit helps.
Comment if you are supporting Walker Elementary PTA thru AmazonSmile!
Don’t forget to share this post so friends and family can support your child’s school. They don’t have to live here to support. If they purchase on Amazon they can help.
Sam's Club is offering a great fundraising opportunity for our Walker Elementary PTA. Join Sam's Club for $45 and 33% comes back to our PTA!
So if you have been thinking of joining, now is a perfect time! They have some great food and other items at some great prices, and our local Sam's Club has been a great community partner with our school and PTA.
Here's the link where you can join to give Walker Elementary PTA credit: https://www.groupraise.com/offer-campaigns/202

SHS Softball Clinic for 5th Grade
Did you know that missing 10 percent or about 18 days of school can make it harder to learn to read? Students can still fall behind if they miss just a day or two days every few weeks, and being late to school may lead to poor attendance. Absences can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up after they have started their day. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school and themselves. I have compiled a list from attendanceworks.org to help you see what you can do at home to help.
Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.
Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before.
Don’t let your child stay home unless she is truly sick. Keep in mind complaints of a stomach ache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and not a reason to stay home.
If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to teachers, school counselors, or other parents for advice on how to make her feel comfortable and excited about learning.
Develop some backup plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor or another parent.
Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session.
