In my opinion winter is the best season.
Firstly, you can play in the snow.
Secondly, you can have heaps of hot chocolate!!!!!!
Lastly, you can have heaps of hot food.
Thanks Carter's Tyres!
Huge thanks to Kelly-Anne and Dean Findlay, and the team at Carter's Tyres for another generous donation of rugby balls. What good sorts. You can never have too many of these in a school. Lucky kids!
Next Week - 1st December - Cultural Liturgy
On Thursday December 1st we are having a special afternoon of celebrating and sharing.
From 12.30 - 1.40pm we will be having a shared lunch (byo), this is also a time where your kids can take you around our classrooms and show you the cool stuff they've been learning about and making for our inquiry topic, Tūrangawaewae.
At 1.40pm we will head over to the Church to celebrate a Liturgy (it was originally a Mass but the lovely Father Jaime is away on retreat) together, as this is part of our culture and special character at St Mary's. This Liturgy will be like no other that we have had before, it will be a Liturgy celebrated in many languages, with songs and sharing, embracing all the fantastic cultures we have as part of our St Mary's School community. We'd love you to join us for all of the afternoon events, or even part of them ... but of course, if you can't make it, we'll always have pictures on Facebook afterwards.
Spreading Joy This Advent
Wow, what an amazing response! We've had a huge amount of Advent Wreath's making their way into school this week (75 and counting) which has really kicked off the Advent vibe here at school. This afternoon Father Jaime blessed each and everyone of them as well as the Jesse Tree ornaments Room Moa have made for the Christmas Tree in the Church.
Advent officially starts this Sunday 27th November, this means you can light your first purple candle, the candle of hope. I've probably over done it with photos (noooooo!) but unfortunately I couldn't fit them all in, the rest will be up on Facebook later in the day.
