AOC 12th Grade Families

AOC 11th Grade Families

1. AOC will be hosting the PSAT on Saturday, October 15, 2022. If your child is interested in taking the PSAT, registration will be available at AOC on Wednesday, 9/7 and Thursday, 9/8 (between 8am-3:00pm). To register and pay (cash only, exact change is appreciated) for the test, please go to the AOC Office and pay the fee to Mrs. Perkins on the appropriate dates. The CASH ONLY fee for the test is $25.00. *More information was sent via email on 8/30/22*
2. Class of 2024 "Grijalva Appointments" begin this week. Your child can make an appointment via the calendly link shared on Google Classroom. During these meetings, your child and I update their AOC Education plan. The appointment window is from September 8-October 11th.

Wellness Activities are listed above for the week. Students use this space to relax and participate in mindful activities during lunch and throughout the day. Musical instruments have been donated and students are using them to decompress during a busy day.

Go Fusion Grill food truck will be coming to COC next door to AOC's campus on Thursdays! The food trucks offer tacos, burritos, hot dogs, carne asada, fries, and nachos amongst other items. Here is a link to his Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/gofusionngrill/?hl=en

They will initially offer a limited menu of only 3 items, and see how it goes. The menu will include a chicken, steak, and vegan option. College of the Canyons is looking to offer a food choice closer to the University Center for AOC and COC students. Sales tax is already included in the price. . All orders must be complete by Wednesdays at 12:00pm. This is a preorder menu.

Free meals from the cafeteria are still in place this year. Each student can receive one complimentary breakfast and one lunch each day with their student IDs. It is packaged together for students to pick up at 11:00am daily. But, they must be signed up to receive it.

It was a busy week at AOC from Back to School Night, student presentations, the school district Safety Symposium and ASB's Back to School Dance. Thank you to ASB for an OUTSTANDING opening event. We had 200 students in attendance. Thank you to our wonderful staff for chaperoning!

And, thank you to our ROOTS parents for providing cold water to our students during the dance at Back to School Night. Thank you to all of our parents who donated and supported ROOTS by buying baked goods and just simply donating to our PTA. We appreciate all of the support. It was great to see our students let loose and dance the night away on Friday! And, it was a great pleasure to see so many parents and families come to our Back-to-School Night! It was a great week at AOC!

Located on the campus of College of the Canyons, AOC is proud to be the middle college high school in the William S. Hart Union High School District serving students 9th-12th grades in the Santa Clarita Valley. Students have the opportunity to earn between 24 and 44 transferable college units, prior to receiving their high school diplomas. Upon graduation, the majority of Academy students pursue their post high school education by continuing at COC and completing their college transfer requirements in only one year after high school. Other AOC students go directly into a four-year university, bringing their community college units with them and placing themselves well into their freshman and sophomore years at the college level. While attending AOC as a high school student, community college tuition is waived for established California residents.
