Take on the role of one of the characters in the novel (Iqbal, Fatima, Maria, Hussain Khan, Eshan Khan, Karim or anyone else you feel you have an understanding of) and talk about yourself to the class. What information can you infer from the text to describe how the character may be thinking or feeling? Some of the questions you may want to answer:
□ Who are you? How do you spend your days?
□ What are your beliefs?
□ What are your thoughts on child labour? Should children have to work to help their family?
□ What do we need to know about you that was not stated in the book?
Please speak for at least 30 seconds. You do not have to memorize your monologue but please make as much eye contact with your audience as you can.
