PTO Information:
Fairy Tale Festival and Silent Auction
The 2nd Annual Fairy Tale Festival on Friday, Feb. 28 will be the kickoff to the SSC Silent Auction. The auction items will be available to view at the event, but all bidding will take place online. A link to the online auction will be sent in the February 28th newsletter as well as posted on the PTO Facebook page.
The auction fundraising goal is $9,000. Please help us reach that goal by donating an auction item. We are asking each grade level to provide a basket as part of the auction. A Sign Up Genius has been created to help organize donations. Feel free to donate an item to another grade level if you wish! Donations not listed are welcome. If you have a connection to a business that would be willing to donate, please let us know at fundraisingssc@gmail.com. There will be many great items to bid on!

Health Information
Here are symptoms that mean your child must stay home:
- Fever. Any temperature of 100 is a fever, and children shouldn’t go to school with fevers. While giving them medicine might bring the fever down, it won’t stop them from being contagious.
A child should be fever-free for 24 hours WITHOUT Tylenol or Ibuprofen to bring it down before returning to school.
- Vomiting or diarrhea. It’s unfair all around — to the child and the school or daycare — to send a child with vomiting or diarrhea, no matter how well they might look to you. They should be able to tolerate solid foods without feeling sick and able to perform daily activities without tiring.
AND PLEASE HAVE A CHANGE OF CLOTHES FOR YOUR CHILD IN THEIR BACKPACK.
Kindergarten Enrollment ~ March 31, 2020 ~ 4:00pm-6:00pm
Please help Hoover City Schools in spreading the word to parents whose oldest child is just entering kindergarten. Early kindergarten enrollment is very important as the school's administrators plan for next year. Kindergarten numbers prove critical in that they help schools staff accordingly for the upcoming school year.

PTO Fundraising 2019-2020
What are our fundraisers? Our major fundraisers include our annual fall Change for Change drive and our spring Fairy Tale Festival. Throughout the year we will also have school spirit nights, everyday fundraisers, PTO dues and donations, and offer spirit wear. This handout will give you a look ahead at what to expect during the school year and let you know how much money we hope to raise at each event.
Fairy Tale Festival Friday, February 28th, 2020 Last year we introduced a new fundraiser that was a huge success! We hope you’ll join us for dancing, stories, activities, character photos, dessert and much more! Dress up as your favorite fairy tale character if you wish. Our Fairy Tale Festival is a community-wide event so bring a neighbor or a friend. Tickets are needed for children 2 and up, and they are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. All activities are included in the ticket price and Chick-fil-A will be available for purchase with 10% of sales donated to SSC! The Fairy Tale Festival will also kick off our silent auction fundraiser. The goal of this event, including the auction, is to raise $9,000 for our school.
Spirit Nights There will be four spirit nights held throughout the year - two in the fall and two in the spring. The goal for our Spirit Nights is to raise $1,000 total ($250 per event) for our school.
