Running Springs Redhawks
October 2022
International Baccalaureate World School
Each month, Mrs. Gower sends out an IB PYP Newsletter. The October edition went out earlier this week and in it you can see highlights of how various grade levels have been incorporating the IB philosophy into our standards based learning. If you haven't seen the newsletter yet, you can find it at https://www.smore.com/6sh52. Check it out! You will be impressed!
With our World School status, we are changing our name to Running Springs Academy and offering a middle school program in the 23-24 school year, beginning with 7th grade and adding 8th grade the following year. Running Springs Academy will continue to develop and deepen middle school students' knowledge of inquiry and global citizenship, allowing students to enter high school highly prepared to begin an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
For 6th grade families interested in 7th grade at Running Springs for the 2023-2024 school year, an interest form can be completed here: https://forms.gle/vh9krYba3SSikCGMA. Running Springs will be hosting an informational meeting for parents of 6th graders interested in 7th grade on Wednesday, October 26, at 6 PM in our school MPR. All interested 6th grade families are welcome to join.

Paper Education for Grades 3-6
OUSD will continue its partnership with Paper to provide ALL students in grades 3 through 12 with free, 1-on-1, tutoring and writing support.
When students log in and start a session, they are instantly connected with subject-matter experts that guide your students through problems step-by-step, without giving away the answers. This way, students can walk away from sessions feeling confident that they understand the material and have the tools to succeed on their future assignments and exams.
Here are a few ways Paper can support you and your students this school year:
Unlimited 24/7/365 tutoring support — sessions can run for as long as students need!
Revisions for any typed writing assignments in 24 hours or less!
Tutoring and writing support in 4 different languages — English, Spanish, French and Mandarin.
Explore with your students! Have them log in through the icon in their OUSD Dashboard to start a tutoring session. Interested in speaking to a member of the Paper team? You can reach them at parents@paper.co.
