JROTC Program at BGHS
A few comments from our parents and students regarding our excellent JROTC program:
"Definitely one of the best programs BGCS has to offer. I wouldn’t be where I am today or doing what I’m doing in college without this program, LTC Edens, or MSG Boone. They are also two of the best teachers at the high school. They truly care about the students."
"I absolutely love JROTC. It is what I look forward to when I go to school! When I have a bad day or need someone to talk to, I can always look for them. I can honestly say this is one of the best programs at our school!!!!!"
"My daughter was so against it at first till my sis talked her into trying it out. Now she loves it."
Our Amazing Marching Hornets!
Wishing our Marching Hornets the best of luck as they will participate in their first contest in two years on Saturday at Lawrence Central High School!
A Sweet Summer!
Thank you to our Students, Families, Teachers, and Dairy Queen!
This summer, 266 kindergarten through sixth grade students, 40 teachers, and three counselors participated in summer school to improve reading and math skills. Although the average attendance was 82%, we had 61 students with a 98%-100% attendance rate! Their effort and dedication deserves a big SWEET Thank You and Good Job!! Thank you also to the families that made sure their students attended every day. You are building a strong foundation of work ethic and grit for your children. Our local Dairy Queen on Thompson Road donated a case of Dilly Bars to reward our students' outstanding attendance. We appreciate ALL of you!
