Cute and cuddly pandas are known for being meaner than they look and very territorial.
Yaks
Known for being productive animals, local people often use yaks for assistance in travel and every day activities.
Pika
Pikas are small rodents known for their round bodies and constantly growing ears.
India
Location, Location, Location
- India is a developing nation, known for many poor communities and bad sanitation.
- Population: 1.25 billion as of 2013
Threats
- fuel-wood and fodder concentration
- over 75% of the original habitat is degraded or destroyed
- Invasion: Himalayan blackberry from Asia
Conservation
- Climate Summit for a Living Himalayas in Bhutan evolved a consensus-based mitigation effort primarily for the eastern part.
- Currently initiatives are under way to begin educational programs in school.
- There are no protective laws.
